Yesterday we were delighted to welcome Aoife and Damien who work with the Acres Scheme (The Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme). The Acres scheme aims to help farmers improve biodiversity, air and water quality, and climate resilience while also providing income support to up to 50,000 farm families. Aoife and Damien did a very interesting presentation about boglands in Ireland. We then had an opportunity to explore a local bogland beside the school. The children were very engaged and we all really enjoyed the trip. Thanks to Aoife and Damien for visiting us. #greenschool
Yesterday we were delighted to welcome Garda Alan to the school. Garda Alan spoke with the Junior and Senior room children. He chatted about safety i.e. the importance of wearing seatbelts, sitting in the back of cars, online safety, bullying, water safety, etc… We appreciate Garda Alan making the time to come to talk to the children.
The Junior Room also took a walk to Omey. They built wonderful castles and did great exploring for various types of fish. They had a great time!
We decided to seize the moment and make the most of the beautiful weather. We walked to Omey where the senior pupils got to play, swim and have fun. We had a great day!
